16. Gully at Trebetherick Point
Oil on board

The rocks at Trebetherick are multicoloured, with bands of mauve and turquoise, ribbons of quartz stained with oxides, patches of algae, barnacles and mussels. This gully snakes through a wave-cut platform, under a couple of arches, carpeted with sand in parts, deep pools in other sections, and the setting is wonderful, with Pentire Head and the bay of Polzeath as a backdrop.
