Bond (sometimes called ‘Alphabet’ Bond) was a long- lived Liverpool artist who became a beloved and picturesque Merseyside institution. His early work of the ‘50s was influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites (he contributed to the Pre-Raphaelite exhibition in Russell Place in 1857), but later he developed a broader technique.
