Additional Description
In the 1890s the Ball Room of the Grosvenor House Hotel held masque balls on a huge ice rink, the apparatus of which is still there today, under the floor. The present Queen learned to skate there when she was seven. The original painting by Macbeth hangs in the foyer at the back of the Hotel.
